Improving the quality of aluminum alloy extrusion press can start from the following points

1. The working belt must be ground and polished before the mold is put on the machine, and the working belt is generally required to be polished to a mirror surface. The flatness and verticality of the mold working belt should be checked before assembling the industrial aluminum profile. The quality of nitriding determines the polishing finish of the working belt to a certain extent. The cavity of the mold must be cleaned with high-pressure air and a brush, and there must be no dust or foreign matter. Otherwise, it is easy to damage the working belt under the driving of the metal flow, and the extruded profile products will have defects such as rough surface or scribing.


2. During extrusion production, the mold holding time is generally about 2-3 hours, but not more than 8 hours, otherwise the hardness of the nitride layer of the mold working belt will be reduced, which will cause the surface of the profile to be rough and the industrial aluminum profile will be serious. will cause defects such as scribing.


3. Use the correct alkaline washing (cooking) method. After the mold is unloaded, the mold temperature is above 500°C. If it is immediately immersed in alkaline water, since the alkaline water temperature is much lower than the mold temperature, if the mold temperature drops rapidly, the mold is prone to cracking. The correct method is to place the mold in the air at 100°-150°C and then immerse it in alkaline water after the mold is unloaded.


4. Optimize extrusion process. To scientifically extend the life of the mold, the rational use of the mold for production is an aspect that cannot be ignored. Due to the extremely harsh working conditions of the extrusion die, reasonable measures must be taken in extrusion production to ensure the organizational performance of the die.


5. In the early stage of the use of the die, a reasonable surface nitriding process must be carried out on the die. Surface nitriding treatment can greatly improve the surface hardness of the mold while maintaining sufficient toughness, so as to reduce the thermal wear of the mold during use. It should be noted that surface nitriding cannot be completed at one time. During the service period of the mold, repeated nitriding treatment must be carried out 3-4 times. Generally, the thickness of the nitriding layer is required to reach about 0.15mm.


6. The use strength of the mold is adopted from low to high and then to low. When the mold just enters the service period, the internal metal structure and performance are still in the floating stage. During this period, the industrial aluminum profile should adopt a low-strength operation plan to make the mold transition to a stable period.


7. The use and maintenance records of strong molds in the extrusion production process, and the tracking record files and management of each set of molds are improved. The time between the acceptance of the extrusion die and the scrapping of the die is as short as a few months and as long as more than a year. Basically, the mold usage records also record the various processes of profile production.


8. Select the appropriate extrusion model for production. Before extrusion production, it is necessary to fully calculate the profile section, and determine the tonnage of the extruder according to the complexity of the profile section, the wall thickness and the extrusion coefficient λ.


9. The section of the profile extrusion machine itself is ever-changing, and the aluminum extrusion industry has developed to this day. Aluminum alloys have important advantages such as light weight and good strength. At present, many industries of industrial aluminum profiles have used aluminum profiles to replace the original materials. Due to the special profile of some profiles, the design and manufacture of the mold are difficult due to the special profile section.


10. Reasonable selection of billet and heating temperature. It is necessary to strictly control the alloy composition of the extruded ingot. At present, general enterprises require that the grain size of ingots reach the first-class standard to enhance plasticity and reduce anisotropy.
